The KA-BAR Spork, which is made from food and water approved Creamid®, is equipped with a fork/spoon combo and has a 2.5" plastic serrated knife in the handle. The knife is accessed by pulling the spork in opposite directions from each extreme end. **Hint--avoid gripping the flat panel area in the middle of the Spork--this is actually part of its lock. The tighter you hold here, the more difficult it will be for you to pull out the knife!**

Mine came with sharp edges along the side from the molding process, I took care of this quickly with some light sanding using 400 grit sandpaper. The bowl of the spork is a bit deeper than other sporks I have used. This takes some getting use to, but overall works well. The fork spines are shaped in a way that they slice through softer meats pretty easily. There is a bit of a rattle to it if you hold one end ans shake it, but the lock works well and the knife will not come out accidentally. I would really like to see a scabbard made for it that keeps the spork end clean, and that also has a pocket clip. Overall this is a great tool that is made in the USA and for an outstanding price.

I got stopped by IRS security entering their building with a pocket knife blade that was over 2 1/2 inches. I had bought that knife to comply with US Customs directives to travel internationally and return so imagine my surprise that it did not comply to enter a Federal building! That said, this knife blade is 2 1/2" so you should be able to travel at will. I haven't tried it at the airlines but, since I bought mine directly from Ka-Bar at their website for $6.93, if I had to ditch it at the shake down it wouldn't give me pause. I bought several of these and give them out to the kids and friends. Terrific for their novelty and usefulness. Just the thing to insure that Ben & Jerry's American Dream Cone does not get home unmolested. That and a surprising amount of other things at home and the field.

This is cool but I almost want a better quality version made of metal. It could also use a push button release for the knife. And a flint in the handle to make it truly tactical. And this is a stretch but a water filter straw would be over the top but it would all fit together as the best spork known to man.

I saw them on facebook and thought they were kind of hokey and toy like but my wife wanted one to take in her lunch for work and I thought if they are any good it would be a good thing for my day pack and Hazmat bag so I ordered a four pack. (I expect my wife will lose one or two) When they came at first I thought the were kind of small but compact is good for our use and for a plastic knife It really is pretty sharp and does work very well for the size. Over all I am very impressed with this little spork/knife and will use it for years to come.

I have been looking at these and wanting them for ages then finally I bit the bullet and bought two from a UK distributor. One for my wife another for myself. When it arrived it looked nice but on closer inspection there were a few rough and sharp areas that I needed to sand down as mentioned by another person on here. Bit poor quality control and not something I expected from a good company like kabar. Unfortunately things didn't improve there I'm sorry to say. I thought I do a field test on this and made a range of food items. The little blade spreads things like butter, pate and the like fairly well. Cutting bread was ok but a little awkward due to the small size but not to bad. Harder items like cheese and meat also cut well. Haven't tried it on cooked meat like steak or chicken yet. Then I thought i try the fork and spoon. Solid food worked well even thou not s lot fitted on the spoon as it's a lot smaller than a standard spoon and not as deep. The fork prongs did ok but struggled a little with things like pasta and meatballs. Sadly with tomato soup, yoghurt and milk from my morning cereal the spoon was utterly useless as it hardly held any in the spoon. I was rather dissapointed overall with it and wouldn't use it as to me it feels a gimmick and just not usable. The concept is great but the end product is not something I feel would be any good on a camping trip or anything other than maybe a lunchbox. I will stick with my stainless steel military fork, knife, spoon set.
If kabar would like to improve this idea and product my suggestion would be
Make the spoon larger and a little wider and shallower with the prongs less deep so the fluid doesn't run straight out.
Quality check them for sharp edges and rough bits.

This is a great little spork! I'm gonna use it for hiking, camping, backpacking, etc. I have a lighter titanium spork with no knife, but let's face it. Nothin beats a KA-BAR spork! Hahaha!

O.k. yup another tool in my bug out bag along side my bk10 and esee izula.. Sweet tool glad to have it.I trust KaBar in a pinch, I used there tools in the jungles of central and south America. Still got my issue machete👍👍👍

Spoon is incredibly small, very small. Perfect for camping or combat, but not for using every day at work. And there is a hole just above the spoon, so your food is getting into the chamber where the knife is stored. And no way to scrub out that chamber. So nice being able to separate it and cut like a normal person, with two hands. Good sturdy plastic. But, they need to come out with a "large" version on the spoon!

I saw the Tactical Spork on Facebook and thought it was a farce.... came to the Ka-Bar site and discovered it was not...AND the price was really reasonable. I ordered 4 of them. I was thinking lunch boxes and field pack for hunting. The spoon part of the spork is deep. MUCH deeper then even most spoons. Makes eating something like pudding or yogurt a bit more interesting as it does not have the same mouth feel to get all the food in one bite. Works well for soup type foods tho! The fork part is ok....compared to a real fork, it is not nearly as effective, but lets face it....it is not the thin long tines of a real fork....this is a SPORK!!! The knife part is impressive. I have not yet been able to try it out on a steak or anything fun like that, but it is pretty sharp and I anticipate no issues with meat products. Due to the "security" that most schools have....along with the RULES they have about knives, I would NOT recommend this knife to go into a school age lunch box (k-12). Have it in a work lunch bucket, have it in a field pack.....unless you REALLY want your child to be busted in school for having a knife, do NOT put it in the lunch box. Looking forward to using it in some more austere environments to really try it out!! Worth the purchase at the price it is sold for!
