Introducing theRed Spacer Mark 1 from our State & Union shop.  Featuring our proven 1095 Cro-Van steel with blued finish, this is the first Red Spacer with a shorter blade style. Equipped with a dyed leather handle and the signature red spacer below the guard.  Blade is stamped "KA-BAR" and "USN MK1" and has a worn blued finish.

Includes leather "U.S.N." marked sheath.

The Red Spacer KA-BAR is arguably the most collectible KA-BAR Knife made during World War II.  The distinct red spacer below the hand guard and above the leather washer has caught the eye of collectors for decades.  Though originals are rare and expensive, KA-BAR’s State & Union shop has made a small batch of this iconic knife.

The leather washers are shaped by hand and dyed to create an aged appearance.  The pommel is ground down to replicate the dimensions of the original.  Each red spacer is hand made to be slightly longer than the current spacer used on KA-BAR Fighting/Utility Knives.  The blade is worn blue finished.  The sheath undergoes an ageing process to darken the leather and match the original sheath color.

PLEASE NOTE THE BLADE  HAS A "USMC" STAMP

The new Red Spacer USN KA-BAR from the State & Union shop.  KA-BAR's with a red spacer were some of the most collectible KA-BAR variants during World War II due to their scarcity.   The Red Spacer USN features a smooth leather handle and iconic World War II-era "KA-BAR USN MK2" mark on the guard. The blade has a worn blued finish.  Made with 1095 Cro-Van steel in the KA-BAR custom shop in Olean, NY.

      • I've been a Ka-Bar fan for decades and own several. The Mark 1 was always my favorite, both the Kraton and leather models. They just fit my medium grip perfectly and are endlessly useful. That being said, this Red Spacer model is now my favorite! The hand built craftsmanship is outstanding. The deep, dark, brown of the leather handle looks exactly like some of my Ka-Bar's that are 20 years old, and it's the only factory blued Ka-Bar I've ever seen or owned. It is an excellent knife all around and I absolutely love it. I will be getting at least one more Red Spacer full length model next. These are just too cool!

      • I lost my MK1 on a dense forest in Vietnam in 1968. I have the USNavy scabbard and want to replace my diving knife for my grandsons. I expended three of these knives in Vietnam and sorely this tool. I would appreciate your advice!
